Spring Trail & Park Cleanups

Come join a trail/park cleanup to help get the trails/parks ready for peak outdoors season! For all of these events, please dress for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, and bring your own gloves if you have them. We'll see you out there!

Mohawk River Trail North Cleanup
Date: Saturday, April 11
Time: 9 AM
Location: Meet in the parking lot of the Fish Hatchery (8306 Fish Hatchery Rd, Rome).
Details: Bring your own gloves and wear close-toed shoes. Bags and a few grabbers will be provided by the City. No need to RSVP, just show up!

Canal Clean Sweep
Date: Saturday, April 18
Time: 9 AM - 11 AM
Location: Bellamy Harbor Park
Details: Friends of Kari (non-profit) is hosting this clean-up along the Erie Canalway Trail and it is open to the public. No registration, just show up the day of if you are interested.

Mohawk River Trail Cleanup

Location: Meet at MVCC parking lot next to the trail (off of Floyd Ave)

Greatest American Cleanup (Rome Clean and Green)
Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 9 AM
Location: All of Rome

I Love My Park Day
Date: Saturday, May 2nd
Time: 10 AM - noon
Location: Delta Lake State Park
Picking up garbage and sticks in picnic areas and trails; raking and picking up small debris on the beach. Assembling picnic tables. Meet at the Four Seasons Room at the beach house (down at the beach in front of the building). The park is off Route 46 in Western. Volunteers should wear gloves and dress appropriately for weather. Family friendly event for all ages. Rain date: Sunday, May 3.

Cycle the Erie Canal Welcoming Block Party

Join us on July 16th on West Dominick Street for our welcoming block party, held as part of the annual Cycle the Erie Canal Tour. This event celebrates visiting cyclists traveling the Erie Canalway Trail as they pass through Rome. Come meet riders, celebrate our canal heritage, and enjoy the community spirit of downtown Rome.
